Premium-grade steamer trunk manufactured by Chas Wilton of Chicago, circa 1870. Recovered in black cotton canvas, refitted with cedar slats. Heavy cast-iron fancy hardware with unique and ornate solid brass double hasp lock. Detailed handle encaps with premium English bridle-leather side handles. Brass sheet binding, center brass accent with copper nails. Stitched leather lid lift. Original solid brass nameplate on outer upper lid.
