As described by Lost Art Salon

1948 surreal landscape by Harold E. Spencer, titled Whither?. Spencer was originally from Connecticut and served during WWII. After the war, he studied art at the University of California at Berkeley with his wife Edtha where one of his instructors had studied with German expressionist Hans Hofmann. This piece is displayed in a period wood frame with hanging hardware on verso. Signed lower right.
