A pair of children, dressed in sailor attire, gazing out at the water. A small bateau is in front of them, along with a collection of colored buoys. This is a fine-art print of the original work, set on gallery-wrapped canvas and ready to hang.
Based in Maryland, the artist JJ Galloway has painted for over 25 years. She gravitates toward historic images of the seashore and beach scenes, taking inspiration from old-fashioned black-and-white photographs and found vintage works. She also depicts sweets, such as cakes and popsicles, casting them in a charming and nostalgic light. Galloway teaches at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC.
