A classic beach moment, with a daughter playing peek-a-boo with her lounging mother. This is a fine example of the artist's talent for capturing timeless scenes by the water. The work is printed on canvas and arrives ready to hang.
Based in Maryland, the artist JJ Galloway has painted for over 25 years. She gravitates toward historic images of the seashore and beach scenes, taking inspiration from old-fashioned black-and-white photographs and found vintage works. She also depicts sweets, such as cakes and popsicles, casting them in a charming and nostalgic light. Galloway teaches at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC.
