A striking pair of vintage prints of original copperplate engravings containing 55 hand-colored marine flags, some decorated with coats of arms. Drawn by Goussier, they were then engraved by Benard, who put together the Encyclopédie which contained 72,000 articles written by more than 140 contributors. The Encyclopédie was a massive reference work for the arts and sciences and served to propagate Enlightened ideas.

William Stafford Gallery has a sterling reputation for its reproduction prints. The London-based gallery is a treasure trove of fine-art prints, contemporary black-and-white photography, sepia photography, and works in color. By commissioning artists and photographers and then controlling all aspects of print production, the gallery ensures a consistently exceptional quality. Through its collaborations with master framemakers, they offer new and refreshing presentation ideas in pace with today's design trends.
