A striking pair of giclée reproductions of original copperplate engravings, containing 55 hand-colored marine flags, some decorated with coats of arms. Drawn by Goussier, they were then engraved by Benard, who put together an "Encyclopédie" of 72,000 articles written by more than 140 contributors. The "Encyclopédie" was a massive reference work for the arts and sciences and served to propagate Enlightened ideas.
