A novel spin on a rhino -- or on a backgammon board, depending how you look at it. This brilliantly colored image features a rhino covered in the signature lines of a backgammon board. The image is cut through with yellow and set against a bright green and blue clover background.

The artist's keen eye for arrangement makes this work sing.

This is a fine print of the original felted wool design. The image is surrounded by a one-inch white border and set in a white wood frame.

The textile artist Maryanne Quinn puts a modern spin on American folk art with her felted wool designs. Though her pieces often have a childlike spirit, Quinn draws on bold graphics and ironic references that make them sophisticated works of art. In her designs, one can see influences of a lifetime of salty summers, Quinn’s early botanical study in watercolors, and the precise arrangements she mastered as a graphic designer. Quinn lives with her three children in Boulder, CO, and spends summers by the beach on Long Island, where she grew up.
