    To the One I Love the Best by Ludwig Bemelmans. New York: Viking Press, 1955. Second printing. Bemelmans went to Lady Mendl's house for cocktails one day, and stayed as a member of the family. Lady Mendl was the grande dame of Benedict Canyon, a pioneer of American interior decoration and the gracious hostess of a "modern Versailles." Jacket art, endpapers and frontispiece by Bemelmans. Book in fine condition, good dust jacket, clipped jacket has small chips to top edge.
