As described by Billy Blue Eye

    R. G. Cowan opened his first studio in in 1912 and became an award-winning ceramicist creating superior Art Deco pottery. Pair of 3.5"H compotes, 1926. It appears as if the bowls hold contents floating in a Caribbean blue sea. In mint condition, with the exception of a small chip on the base of one (see photo). The undersides are incised with the Cowan logo.
