A beautiful aerial photograph, from the artist's recent À la Plage, À la Piscine ("At the Beach, At the Pool") series. Each photograph in this series was shot from a door-less helicopter. In the photographer's words, "From above, a simple beach or pool becomes a blank canvas that allows me to start seeing the world as art. People and objects become patterns creating repetition, shape and form. Each geographic location has revealed that the love of water is a universal experience, an activity that offers people a sense of freedom and joy. These photographs are a visual celebration of color, light, shape -- and summer bliss." The 44" x 32" size is hand-signed by the artist and numbered. Only a few of the edition are being offered.
A Dallas native, Gray Malin hunts the globe for the unusual beauty captured in his photographs. He often plays with perspective through height, helicoptering over the beaches of Brazil or Kauai and sending balloons above the mystical plains of Joshua Tree National Park. Malin first broke onto the scene in West Hollywood, California at a Sunday market where his prints caught the interest of gallery owners, interior designers, and stylish Angelenos. Malin's work has been displayed in the Dallas Museum of Art and has been published around the world in publications such as the London Observer.
