Why We Love This

A beautiful image of Bolivia, featuring colored shapes fluttering in the wind and a pair of sheep on the ground. Under the mentorship of Bolivian photographer Gastón Ugalde, Gray Malin shot this “Far Far Away” series in the largest salt flat in the world, Salar de Uyuni, which expands nearly 5,000 square miles and sits at 12,000 feet in elevation. The conditions are ideal for photography: the color temperature reaches an intense 7,000 kelvins, making all objects appear brighter than the eye normally sees.

The image is presented in its raw form. This open form of photography lets the viewer enjoy the otherworldy beauty of the landscape.

About Gray Malin

A Dallas native, Gray Malin hunts the globe for the unusual beauty, capturing unforgettable images with his photographs. He often plays with perspective through height, helicoptering over the beaches of Brazil or sending balloons above the mystical plains of Joshua Tree National Park. The result is not only artistic, but also transporting, with images that provide a dose of travel and imagination. Gray's work has been displayed in the Dallas Museum of Art and has been published around the world in publications such as the London Observer.London Observer
