Pair of stoneware clay pendants on handmade walnut arms. Wired and ready for mounting. Pendant has been finished with a dark green glaze. Due to the iron content of the clay and the high firing temperature of the kiln the glaze appears teal and khaki.
LA ceramic artist Heather Levine was transformed in Vallauris, France, where she had the opportunity to work where Picasso created his ceramics. Experimenting with Limoges porcelain and new glazes inspired new approaches. Today, working with California stoneware clays and high-fire glazes, Heather focuses on opening clay forms to allow light--natural or artificial--to radiate through the pieces and into a space.
