Why We Love This

"No Hermès scarf has created as loud of a stir as Kermit Oliver's glorious homage to his home state of Texas. In his remarkable design, the artist honors all of the state's flora and fauna. The scarf was made in 1986. As much a painting as a scarf, this piece is ideally suited for framing. Custom giltwood frame. Professionally framed in 2013. It just doesn't get any better than this."

About The Emporium Ltd.

In 1985, a New York movie executive began buying French and English antiques. When she moved to California, she added California pottery and Asian porcelain to the mix. The Emporium Ltd. was born out of that first collection. Her habits haven’t changed: She still buys only what she’d want for herself, and that includes the spectacular scarves, jewelry, and bags in this collection. “Always buy a piece you love--you’ll find a place for it,” she says. “But don’t buy it on sale if you didn’t love it at full price. It won’t withstand the test of time.”
