Hardcover in original unclipped d/j under mylar. 320 pp. Riveting tale of Jeanne Becu, Comtesse du Barry, said to be the most beautiful and last of Louis XV's mistresses. As the King reportedly said, "She makes me forget that I will soon be sixty." Book is divided into two parts and contains 6 b/w illustrations/paintings. Deckle pages. Few small tears on d/j edges. Clean interior.
