Why We Love This

In 1878 Simon Fielding began development of Railway Pottery, Stoke-On-Trent, England which eventually would become Crown Devon and flourish until 1982. Development of quality products established it as a leader and an intense rivalry with Carlton Ware during the 1930s resulted in a remarkable output of Art Deco designs. This pitcher, a product of those times, has a mottled glaze and is ringed from top to bottom. The ewer is bottom marked in the manner of Crown Devon.
