As described by

French antique steel-cut engraving of Marshal Michel Ney, a military commander during the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars. In 1838, in order to raise money for the restoration of Versailles, the king commissioned a series of high-quality engravings of famous French personalities that were sold by subscription to wealthy supporters. Engraved by Goutière after a painting by Langlois; published by Furne, Paris. Original biography included.
