As described by Christopher de Lotbinière's Rare Books

The White Deer by James Thurber. New York: Harcourt, Brace Co, 1945. Third printing, with "c.10.45" on copyright page. A very good copy of one of Thurber's unusual medieval fantasies, in the same vein as The Thirteen Clocks. Wartime production values reduced paper quality, but there are three full-color illustrations and a jacket design by Don Freeman, as well as line drawings by Thurber himself. Clipped jacket has slight dirt, but unusually well-preserved.
