Balloon dancers, trained by Miss Ethel Hunt, found the hard sand an ideal place to practice to the music of the ocean breakers at Long Beach, CA on December 26th, 1932. The gesso-and-wood frame is hand-finished by craftsmen using 17th-century Florentine techniques. It is hand-painted in black.
