Why We Love This

A vintage lithograph that has been signed in the plate, set off in a Canadian walnut frame. Marie Laurencin was a French painter, stage designer, and illustrator in the circle of Picasso and Braque. Although her early works exhibit similarities to the early works of these artists, Laurencin moved away from Cubism after World War I to focus on more representational portraits and figure works characterized by expressive, graceful lines and soft colors.
