Why We Love This

Painting air-brushed on velvet paper, depicting yellow cattleya orchids by Frank Oda (American, 1924 - 2001). Signed "Frank Y. Oda," lower right. Displayed in its original bamboo frame under glass. In 1946 Oda, a well known artist and illustrator, began Hawaii Glass Arts. He produced airbrushed Hawaiian and floral-themed paintings on art board and velvet. Arts Hawaii became the largest airbrush painting studio in Hawaii with many of his works in private collections worldwide.
