Why We Love This

Sew your own 42" x 36" map of Beantown with this fun and easy do-it-yourself quilting kit. The design makes a great keepsake or wall-hanging and is large enough to use as a crib quilt. Personalize your map with embroidered details that are most special to you: a house or apartment, a favorite landmark, or your old college campus.
The basic DIY kit includes a single-use map template of Boston and sewing instructions; the map area includes parts of Cambridge. Quilt fabric, batting and thread are not included, but this kit includes a material list to take to your local quilt shop. Some prior sewing experience is helpful, but not necessary.

About Haptic Lab

Haptic Lab is a small design studio in Brooklyn, New York, known for their heirloom-quality quilted maps of cities and neighborhoods made in partnership with fair-labor partners in India, and handmade kites made in collaboration with Balinese artisans. The word haptic refers to the sense of touch, and everything they design is meant to inspire meaningful connections through that sense.
