For the April 1951 cover of Gourmet magazine, Henry Stahlhut drew the classically British dessert of molded rice. The yellow tower is elaborately adorned with sliced almonds and bits of citron and maraschino cherry, and served with red currant jelly on the side.

Founded in 1909, Condé Nast has long defined what is beautiful and relevant in contemporary life. As publisher of the most renowned magazines, from Vogue to Vanity Fair and The New Yorker, the company has bred some of the most legendary photographers and illustrators, including Cecil Beaton and Richard Avedon. These museum-quality reproductions of the original covers and designs, all from the Condé Nast archive, are full of beauty, wit, and elegance.
