Extremely fine watercolor of a gazelle by artist Marjorie Philips(1894-1985). Philips studied at the Art Student's League in N.Y. and married famed Washington, D.C. art collector Duncan Philips. Together they formed the Philips Collection, where a room is devoted to her work. She exhibited at prestigious venues including 1933 Chicago Century of Progress; 1939 Chicago World's Fair; Tate Gallery, London. Her work is in the Whitney Museum of Fine Art and Boston Museum of Fine Art. Unframed.
About the Seller
