Why We Love This

Four Lives in Paris by Hugh Ford. San Francisco: North Point Press, 1987. First Edition. 286 pages. More than 35 pages of black and white photographs illustrating some of the other creative lives (besides Hemingway's) that were happening in Paris in the 1920s and '30s, including composer George Antheil and writer Kay Boyle. Glenway Wescott contributed a foreword. A fine copy in boards and dust jacket.

About Barbara Farnsworth

My bookstore, an old wooden building at the edge of a New England trout stream, houses thousands of used, rare and antiquarian books, with particular emphasis on Home and Garden subjects -- food and drink, gardening, interior design and architecture. I also carry titles on fashion, children's books and literature. Books really do furnish a room, beautifully!
