There's no reason something functional, like a pencil cup, shouldn't also be beautiful. A case in point? This holder, its reverse-painted glass sides and top lavishly adorned with elaborate motifs. Handcrafted in Peru.
Robert M. Weiss home accessories share a luminous quality--the unique, Old World glow of verre églomisé, or reverse-painted glass. When the Spaniards settled in Peru in the 16th century, they brought many of their household items with them, including reverse-painted Venetian glass mirrors. In time, a core of Peruvian artisans began to recreate these masterpieces locally. Today, every Robert Weiss creation is handcrafted and painted in Peru by artisans who proudly carry on this tradition.
