An original color lithograph from 1937, which was published in the very rare first issue of Verve. Founded in 1937 by Henri Matisse’s friend E. Teriade, Verve was a lavish publication on the arts. The magazine showcased original lithographs by the leading artists of the day. This lithograph is from an unknown edition.

Born in Barcelona, Joan Miró created his own magical, often Surrealist style. His unique version of abstraction, in which images have a relationship to the natural world, continues to influence contemporary art today.
