The fanciful style of Marc Chagall is particularly evident in this 1915 depiction of a young couple. From the MoMA collection in New York City, this fine print has been custom-framed in an exclusive museum-quality MunnWorks frame with hand-finished molding.
Russian by birth, Marc Chagall was educated in St. Petersburg and Paris, eventually emigrating to France in 1923. Although influenced early on by Russian Expressionism and French Cubism, Chagall created a style that was unique to the 20th century. His mastery of color suffuses his paintings and prints as well as the stained glass made for European cathedrals.
Established in 1955, MunnWorks is known for its superiorly crafted custom-made frames for fine art and mirrors. Its frames hang in the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the de Young Museum in San Francisco, and the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles. The company's own holdings include many important works of art by masters of the 20th century, from Dalí to Matisse.
