Why We Love This

A depiction of the Brig Pilgrim loading hides at La Playa, Pt. Loma. This is a limited-edition stone block lithograph, pencil-signed and numbered. Presented in a custom frame.

Born in England, John Stobart began sketching vessels during an early voyage to South Africa. In the 1960s, he emigrated to the United States, where he has become the preeminent American marine painter. A careful researcher, Stobart is known for his historically accurate, dramatic renderings of maritime scenes.
