Why We Love This

Pair of Old Sheffield silver-on-copper wine coasters with turned mahogany bases made in the late-18th or early-19th century. One retains a label with the name and address of Lord Southborough, a British diplomat and author. Raised, chased acanthus leaf-decorated rims. Center circle probably sterling, for engraving monograms. Old baize cloth lined bases.
