Why We Love This

A stunning example of the brief Victorian Egyptian Revival period. An antique bronze pedestal compote bowl by artist J. Moigniez. Scarabs stand guard on the gnarled branch handles on each side, looking down at the lifelike lizards circling each other in the center of the compote. Thick oak leaves cradle the underside of the bowl leading down to a decorated pedestal. Signed by the artist. Beautiful deep patina.
