Pair of antique metal currency blades from D.R. Congo mounted on black stands. Forms like this iron "weapon" or blade were recognized and used by the Tarumba and Likele people as a bride price. It is much too thin to have ever been intended as a functional weapon and is not sharp.
About the Seller
A native of Brazil, acclaimed San Francisco-based interior designer Antonio Martins has an uncommon global vision. He started his career in Switzerland, where he acquired an appreciation for European design. From Switzerland he moved to Venice, to Frankfurt, then to Hong Kong in the early 1990s for 11 years, where he became immersed in Asian arts and cultures, from Chinese furniture to Shan sculpture from Thailand to Indonesian textiles.
