Why We Love This

Beautiful midcentury silk and lacquer wall screen with a cherry blossom landscape formed of raised lacquer details in shades of gold, silver, charcoal and copper. Motifs are hand-painted on gold silk. Silk matting. Brass-colored frame. Handmade and painted in Kyoto, Japan, 1967. Signed and labeled: "Makie wall screen."
