As described by Christopher de Lotbinière's Rare Books

The Twelve Days of Christmas by Miles and John Hadfield. London: Cassell, 1961. First printing. The authors have assembled a wonderful literary museum dedicated to the traditions and observances of the holidays which the Christian Church took over from earlier pagan ceremonies. Christmas Eve and Day, Boxing Day and the 12 following all have traditions in England and the US that are contrasted with rituals across Europe. 176 pp with many illustrations, with light foxing to some pages.
