Why We Love This

Life on the Lagoons by Horatio F. Brown. London: Rivingtons. 1909. 5th Edition. 297 pages. Leather-bound. The first book by the Scottish historian Horatio Brown which covers the history and topography of the canal city of Venice, Italy. This beautiful hand-bound edition has a hand-tooled, decorative cover and inlaid cherub brass closures. The leather straps have torn and front cover edge wear, but binding is tight and pages have only light foxing. Contains numerous illustrations.
