Why We Love This

An original portrait drawing by artist Rebeca Raney. In her Portrait Drawing series, Raney invents characters who have a charming kookiness and personality that is all their own.

Rebeca Raney creates scenes that let you into a whimsical world of characters, animals, and flora which she has coined “Raneytown.” Raney holds a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA from the School of Visual Arts. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally including solo shows in cities such as New York, Miami, Tokyo, Oasaka, and Copenhagen. She lives and works in Brooklyn, NY, and was recently featured in a solo exhibition at the 2013 NYC Affordable Art Fair.
