Why We Love This

In A Word by Margaret Ernst, illustrated throughout by James Thurber. Great Neck, NY: Channel Press, 1960. First printing thus. A reissue of a collection of word histories from 1939, with additional drawings by Thurber. A great student of words and their power, he was the perfect collaborator on this project for Ernst. Book is fine, jacket has edge wear and a crease to front, with slight fading to spine.
