A pure aluminum inner layer, acting as a heat diffuser, is encapsulated in a stainless-steel "sandwich"--a magnetic stainless base layer for induction cooktops, and an 18/10 stainless top layer. The entire base is hermetically welded to the pot, creating a piece combining the best qualities of stainless-steel, cast-iron, and aluminum cookware. This kitchen-to-table mussel pot comes with a high-dome lid that fits inside of the pot, allowing the condensed steam to return to the pot.
