Why We Love This

Smoky gray glass ashtray from notable designer Per Lütken of Holmegaard Glass, who was recruited from art school in 1942. Lütken is known for his asymmetric, organic and flowing designs. Curving bud-like or teardrop forms with heavy walls, gray or blue are typical of his work, which was often inspired by the icy Scandinavian landscape. Glass is marked with an engraved signature, "Holmegaard" and numbered.
