Why We Love This

1960s pen and ink wash on paper of a seascape by Swedish-California artist Wiveca Rubinow (1920-1994). Rubinow was born in Stockholm, Sweden and studied art in Paris under Henri Matisse as a young adult prior to immigrating to Northern California. She made her living as an artist by showing her works at galleries in Calistoga and Mendocino (Ruth Carlson Gallery and the Depot Gallery). Signed with the artist's nickname, Vico, lower right.
