Why We Love This

1995 abstract using mixed media including lithograph, etching and chine colle on paper by New York/San Francisco artist Gary L. Shaffer (1936-2001). Shaffer trained with Hans Hoffman in the late 1950s and became an influential member of the Printmakers' Workshop in Manhattan. His works are in the permanent collection of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Detroit Institute of Arts, amongst many others. Displayed in a contemporary metal frame and etched non-glare glass.
