Why We Love This

This dazzling print comes from Gray Malin's new series, "Aqua Glam." Capturing the essence of a timeless American summer, this series was inspired by the classic elegance and glamour of synchronized swimming in the early 20th century. With the LA-based Aqualillies as his muse, Malin photographed the series at the iconic Annenberg swimming pool. Built in the 1920s, the pool was designed by Julia Morgan, the architect behind the world-famous Hearst Castle. Says Malin of this series, "Synchronized swimming combines the escape of a day at the pool and the vintage glamour of Old Hollywood--two of my favorite subjects."

About Gray Malin

A Dallas native, Gray Malin hunts the globe for the unusual beauty captured in his photographs. He often plays with perspective through height, helicoptering over the beaches of Brazil or Kauai and sending balloons above the mystical plains of Joshua Tree National Park. Malin first broke onto the scene in West Hollywood, California at a Sunday market where his prints caught the interest of gallery owners, interior designers, and stylish Angelenos. Malin's work has been displayed in the Dallas Museum of Art and has been published around the world in publications such as the London Observer.
