Why We Love This

This vibrant work by Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky features colorful concentric rings arranged in a grid pattern. After initially working in a representational style, Kandinsky became a founding member of Der Blaue Reiter (The Blue Rider), a movement that sought to express spirituality through art, often with symbolic color. Kandinsky eventually transitioned to working in pure abstraction, as in this piece, Farbstudie Quadrate. This is a fine print on heavy paper, set in a handsome gold-finished frame.
