Why We Love This

Plate 8. Fucus Articulatus, Plate 90. Polypus Odorifens, and Plate 48. Fucus Palmatus from Album Jacquard by Augustin Balleydier. Paris, 1856. Original lithograph printed in color after nature. Done as a 12-year project to serve as a source for the Jacquard weaving factory, these were also used in designs for other manufactured products displayed at the Exposition Universelle. Each plate is approximately 10.5" wide. Unframed.
