Why We Love This

A substantial and period Modernist cityscape showing a view of San Francisco with the neoclassical facade of the Western Title Insurance Company in the foreground. Signed lower right "M. Alderson" for Marge Alderson (American, 20th century), a listed artist and painted 1977. The painting is accompanied by a copy of a November 1977 letter to the original buyer in which the artist refers to the public exhibition of this work and titles it "View from the 24th Floor." Unframed.

About McNaught Fine Art

A 1986 graduate of Christie's Fine Arts of London, I headed the fine art department of a West Coast auction house before opening my own gallery. Each painting I represent is selected with care. I believe fine art to be an integral part of life, illuminating both our vision and our values for our children. As time passes, our paintings become heirlooms, enriched with our shared memories. Many things come and go. Art abides. - Anthony McNaught
