Why We Love This

Watercolor of a white rooster and hens attributed to Kentucky artist Lucy Diecks (American, 1875-1959). Unsigned, unframed, circa 1940, old news clipping with photo and mention of Lucy included. Lucy taught art in Louisville, Kentucky, after studying at the Corcoran Art School in Washington, D.C. She was involved in the art scene in Provincetown, Massachusetts. Lucy was included in the exhibition, Kentucky Women Artists: 1850-2000 in 2001-2002. Image, 18"H x 23"W.
