Why We Love This

This image from photographer Ed Fladung perfectly captures the exhilaration of catching a wave. Printed on canvas, the piece is framed with two wooden bars crafted of reclaimed ship wood that was collected along the Pacific coast. The warm, natural wood complements the photograph beautifully.
Photographer Ed Fladung, an avid skateboarder and surfer, grew up in New York and California. After a career in LA as a sought-after graphic designer, he moved to the Pacific coast of Mexico, where surfing and photography took hold of his heart, and never looked back. Fladung first began taking photos to complement his blog, but soon the photos began to tell their own story. His images perfectly capture the quintessential surf culture of California and Mexico. Fladung still lives in Mexico with his wife and son, Luca, and still chases the waves daily.
