Why We Love This

An archival giclée reproduction of a photograph by John Rawlings. This image, which appeared in the June 1942 issue of "Glamour" magazine, comes beautifully matted and set in a black Italian wood frame.
American photographer John Rawlings's successful career with Condé Nast spanned 30 years. After working as an assistant to renowned photographers Horst P. Horst and George Platt Lynes at "Vogue" in the 1930s, Rawlings was sent to England in 1938 to set up an in-house photography studio at British "Vogue." He shot more than 200 covers for "Vogue" and "Glamour" magazines, in addition to work for print and television ads, portraits, and nudes.
