Why We Love This

George Eliot's Life as related in her letters and journals. Arranged and edited by her husband, J.W. Cross, with illustrations in 3 volumes. Published by Harper Brothers, 1885, approximately 340 pages each. Lovely illustrations of her home and other important elements of her life. Eliot was a Victorian novelist who developed the method of psychological analysis characteristic of modern fiction. Her real name was Mary Ann Cross.
