Why We Love This

Plate 428. Fucus Grasipedus, Plate 64. Polypus, and Plate 54. Fucus Spongiosus, Polypus Odoriferens from Album Jacquard by Augustin Balleydier. Paris, 1856. Original lithograph printed in color after nature. Done as a 12-year project to serve as a source for the Jacquard weaving factory, these were also used in designs for other manufactured products displayed at the Exposition Universelle. Each plate is approximately 10.5" wide. Unframed.
