About Emilie Shapiro

Designer Emilie Shaprio draws inspiration for her jewelry line from the coastal landscape of her childhood home. Shapiro handcrafts each piece in her New York City studio using the ancient process of lost wax casting, carving her designs in wax before casting them into metal. Shapiro also incorporates rough gemstones into her work as a celebration of the beauty of natural imperfection. The designer received a BFA in Art and Design with a concentration in jewelry and metalsmithing from Syracuse University. She also studied at the Alchimia school of jewelry in Florence, Italy.
